🕌 Surkhandarya is Uzbekistan's southernmost region, where a Buddhist past sits alongside Islamic heritage. Ancient stupas and monasteries, fortresses, mausoleums, and one of the country's finest waterfalls. DAY 1 — Friday

Evening — The group meets Tashkent South railway station. 19:40 — Departure for Termez on the night train (approximate) Night on the train.

DAY 2 — Saturday, Termez

09:51–10:30 — Arrival in Termez The exact time depends on the train schedule. 10:10–10:50 — Breakfast 11:00–11:30 — The Zurmala Buddhist stupa 11:40–12:20 — The Kyrk-Kyz fortress The legendary seat of the local rulers. 12:30–13:00 — The Sultan Saodat ensemble 13:10–14:00 — Alexandria on the Oxus An ancient citadel and river port founded in the 4th century BC. 14:00–15:00 — Lunch The famous Amu Darya fish, the region's culinary signature. 15:15–15:50 — The Karatepa Buddhist complex 16:00–16:30 — The Fayaztepa archaeological site 16:40–17:10 — The Al-Hakim at-Termezi mausoleum 17:20–18:10 — The Termez archaeological museum 18:30 — Hotel check-in 20:00 — A celebratory dinner Free time. Overnight at the hotel, in two- and three-bed rooms.

DAY 3 — Sunday, Jarkurgan and Sangardak

07:00 — Breakfast 07:40 — Check out and leave with your luggage 08:30–09:10 — The Jarkurgan minaret 09:40–10:10 — Alexander's bridge 10:30–11:00 — The Darvezin-Tepa archaeological site 12:30 — Arrival at the Sangardak waterfall A walk to one of Uzbekistan's most beautiful waterfalls, with free time to rest and take photographs. 14:00–15:00 — A late lunch Plov, Jarkurgan tandyr gusht, salad, bread, tea and water — the tandyr gusht made where it comes from. 15:00 — On towards Denau A stop at a shop or market on the way, to buy food for the train — optional and at your own cost. 18:00 — Arrival at Denau railway station and boarding Departure for Tashkent. Night on the train.

DAY 4 — Monday

Morning — Approximate arrival in Tashkent. End of the tour. 🚆 The tour spans four calendar days and three nights: out on the Friday night train (departing around 19:40), two days in the south, back on the night train early Monday. Two nights are on the train, one in the hotel. 🚡 The cable car at the Sangardak waterfall runs weather permitting, and only when it is operating. ⏰ The exact train times depend on the tickets issued and may shift slightly. The current times are posted in the participants' group a few days before departure. ⚠️ Times in the programme are approximate and may change with the train schedule, traffic, weather and other operational factors. The tour assistant may reorder the stops without reducing the content of the programme.
