About This Tour
🕌 The two great Silk Road cities in three days, travelling between them on the Sharq high-speed train. Bukhara for the trading domes and the Kalyan minaret; Samarkand for Registan, Gur-Emir and Shah-i-Zinda. What to expect: • Bukhara: Lyabi-Hauz, the trading domes, the Alisher Navoi madrasa, Poi-Kalyan • The Ark fortress, the Samanid mausoleum, Chashma-Ayub • Sitorai Mohi-Hosa — the emir's summer residence • The Bahauddin Naqshbandi complex — if the schedule allows • Samarkand: Gur-Emir, Registan, Shah-i-Zinda, Khoja Doniyor • The Ulugbek observatory • The Konigil paper mill and a carpet workshop • The Siab and Bukhara bazaars • Registan floodlit at night and the Eternal City — optional 🍽 Dinners are not included — you arrange your own on all three evenings. 🚄 The train times depend on the tickets issued and may shift by about an hour either way. The exact meeting time is announced in the participants' group a few days before departure. 🏨 The hotel photographs are indicative. Depending on the departure date and availability, you may be placed in a comparable hotel of the same standard in the same area. 🌍 Foreign nationals (non-residents of Uzbekistan) pay a supplement covering the difference in entrance tickets, hotel registration fees and other mandatory tourist charges. Ask the manager for the amount when booking.
